Brothers-All-Natural Introduces Two New Fruit Snacks: Vitamin-Rich Mandarin Orange and Antioxidant-Rich Mixed Berry

The New Mandarin Orange and Mixed Berry Freeze-dried Fruit Snacks.

Rochester, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) January 19, 2011

Brothers-All-Natural introduces two new Fruit Crisps: Mandarin Orange and Mixed Berry. The Mandarin Orange freeze-dried fruit snack provides 45% of your daily Vitamin C in a tangy and tart Fruit Crisp. The Mixed Berry fruit snack is full of antioxidant vitamins and nutrients by including Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, and Blueberries. These new healthy snack foods contain less than 50 calories per bag, plus freeze-dried fruit retains virtually all the nutrition of fresh fruit without the mess.

Unlike the typical mass-marketed sugar-added fruit snacks that are often made primarily from high fructose corn syrup rather than from actual fruit, Brothers-All-Natural fruit snacks are 100% fruit and nothing else. Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps are free of preservatives and any additives. Our Fruit Crisps contain no peanut or tree nuts, and are free of gluten, soy and dairy. Brothers-All-Natural does not use genetically modified or engineered fruit (non GMO). Plus these fruit snacks are certified Kosher, and vegan.

“We used Facebook to ask our customers what they thought of our new Fruit Crisps,” said Colin Chase, Director of eCommerce with Brothers International Food Corporation. “We were glad to see responses like these: ‘I tried the Mixed Berry and just love it. The mixture of the different berries makes it very enjoyable to eat.’ ‘Surprisingly delicious! Can’t stop at 1 bag!’ ‘I love the strong flavors, but best of all these Crisps are safe around kids, dentures and white table cloths – no staining!’”

Mandarin Orange Fruit Crisps

Mandarin Orange was a difficult fruit crisp to develop. To take the ripened mandarin fruit and gently remove the water through Brothers-All-Natural’s specialized freeze-drying process took a lot of extra effort in this case. The new Mandarin Orange Fruit Crisp comes with a burst of orange flavor that seems to melt in your mouth. Customers who purchased this product during the pre-sales compared the texture to a light and fluffy honeycomb bursting with a tart orange flavor.

Additionally for people dieting this time of year, the Mandarin Orange provides a low-calorie and 100% natural way to ingest Vitamin C. A glass of orange juice contains over 120 calories per serving, whereas the Mandarin Orange Fruit Crisp contains only 38 calories per serving.

The New Antioxidant-Rich Mixed Berry Fruit Crisps

In addition to announcing the release of their vitamin-rich Mandarin Orange Fruit Crisps, Brothers-All-Natural is also pleased to announce a long-awaited fruit mix. The new Brothers-All-Natural Mixed Berry Fruit Crisp combines Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Raspberries into one amazing flavor-packed fruit snack. Of all the fruit snacks in the market today, the new Brothers-All-Natural Mixed Berry is one of the richest in antioxidant vitamins and nutrients.

The new Mandarin Orange and Mixed Berry Fruit Crisps are available for sale on the Brothers-All-Natural website (http://www.brothersallnatural.com/), as well as from a number of national retail outlets such as Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Toys-R-Us to name a few. You can find Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps at many fine retailers across the country for the suggested retail price of $ 0.99 to $ 1.19 for a single-serve bag. If you cannot find them at your local store, then please ask for them.

Brothers-All-Natural starts with the best high-quality fruits sourced from around the world. These fresh fruits are then processed in freeze-drying facilities designed to meet rigorous food safety standards, well beyond what is required by law. Popular Products in the Organic Super Fruit Industry

Superfruits have high nutrient density, richly abound in antioxidants and may also contain fiber and health-sustaining phytochemicals. Their consumer appeal lies in the fact they offer a host of nutritional benefits for health, energy, longevity and beauty. Among the hundreds of fruits found in the elite superfruits category, the ones most talked about and considered to be in the running for the next most popular superfruits are the Maqui, African Baobab, Acai Berry and Chokeberry.

African Baobab, adansonia digitata, grows primarily in Africa. It has a tart and citrusy flavor and has a long history of traditional use. Baobab contains vitamins C, B1, B2, and minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorous, iron and magnesium. It also contains a high level of fiber and antioxidants. Baobab is considered to have more than ten times the antioxidant value of oranges, six times more Vitamin C content and more than twice the calcium level of milk.1-2

In 2008, the European Food Safety Authority approved of Baobab as a novel food ingredient. In 2009, the United States Food and Drug Administration approved GRAS status for Baobab. With consumer interest increasing for exotic fruits with health benefits, the Baobab is poised to become a billion dollar industry, according to a report by Ben Bennett from the UK’s Natural Resources Institute (NRI) for the Regional Trade Facilitation Program (RTFP). Baobab can be found in personal care products, breakfast cereals, dairy products, sports and fitness drink products, and in vitamin and mineral health supplements as capsules, tablets or drink mixes.

Maqui Berries, aristotelia chilensis, are deep purple berries commonly found in Chile and Argentina. They are rich in minerals such as iron, calcium and potassium as well as vitamins A and C. So far the Maqui stands unbeaten as a superfruit with the highest antioxidant value. It contains flavonoid compounds such as anthocyanins and polyphenols. Research shows they may help support arterial health and blood circulation. Antioxidants are also known to support anti-aging and immune health. Whether herbal dietary supplements are in powdered or capsule form, Maqui berries offer a high dose of daily antioxidant protection.3-4

Acai Berries, Euterpe oleracea, are native to South and Central America. Introduced into the U.S. market in the 1990s, Acai is touted to be an antioxidant-rich superfruit with multiple health benefits, such as supporting healthy cholesterol levels. It also contains a good amount of fiber (about 14 percent) and 19 amino acids, along with vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, E, potassium, magnesium, calcium, copper and zinc along with plant sterols.

Acai berries are known to have fast-acting antioxidant potency. Their bioactivities are also seen in anti-inflammatory and immune functions. Acai berries may help nutritionally support oxidative stress and support healthy cholesterol levels. Acai continues to be a top-selling superfruit in both conventional and natural markets.5-7 Popular delivery forms for acai berry manufacturers may include capsules, tablets and powdered drink mixes.

Chokeberries, aronia melanocarpa, are shrubs native to North America. Chokeberries are a rich source of anthocyanins and therefore have high antioxidant potency. They contain dietary fiber along with vitamins C, A and E as well as minerals like potassium, iron and manganese. Fresh chokeberries (100 grams) can provide 35 percent of the Required Daily Allowance (RDA) for Vitamin C. The rich polyphenols in chokeberries are being studied for their liver-protective benefits. Chokeberries are known to support vascular functions and may help lower the risk of cardiovascular health.8-9 Chokeberry can be found in a variety of health and fitness products. Popular delivery forms may include capsules, tablets and powdered drink mixes.

Diversification in Superfruit Products

Touted with nutrients, fiber, probiotics (fiber), antioxidants, superfruits have become ubiquitous in the marketplace and are added to a host of food items to enhance their nutritive profile, antioxidant value and to incorporate delicious flavor. With products being sold all over the world, superfruits are a multi-billion dollar industry. You’ll find these superfruits in juices, baked products, ice creams, cakes, baby foods and an array of assorted food items. They are also used in personal care products because of their anti-aging benefits and skin-protective properties.10

Because of their high nutritive profile, superfruits are also popular as dietary supplements and can be manufactured in innovative and convenient-to-take delivery forms.
